Message :an engine (done it at least a hundred times) was on my old Datsun 210. Woudn't start afterwards. Finally, I pulled the distributor cap, one squirt of WD-40 and the engine instantly started and ran normally. I use dielectric grease, too.

I use it liberally in the engine compartment of my Yamaha WaveBlaster, it removes the water from electrical components very well.

Hence the "WD" (water displacement) in WD-40.
